13 Years of Learning, Laughs & Go-Karts

By Gill Ashworth (Customer Implementation and Partner Manager)

I started at the company back in 2012 as a Project and Operations Coordinator for Card Payments. My first week as a blur of acronyms and incredibly helpful colleagues. I was instantly struck by how welcoming everyone was and how much there was to learn!

Fast forward 13 years, and I’m still involved in projects and operations, but now from the Sales team. That shift has been a game-changer. Working across teams helps us spot potential issues early and solve them faster. It keeps things interesting.

One of the highlights for me has been helping onboard multiple sites to Attenda. It’s something we’ve become genuinely brilliant at. Smooth onboarding is no small feat, especially when you’re dealing with multiple locations and tight deadlines.

What makes it work? Teamwork. The speed we’re able to deliver at isn’t down to one person or department, it’s because everyone pulls together. From Sales to Ops to Tech, everyone brings their A-game, and that collaboration is what turns a complex project into a successful one.

Being part of those moments; watching everything click into place and knowing I played a role is incredibly rewarding. It’s a great example of what we do best: working together to make big things happen, fast.

The culture has evolved a lot, more collaboration, regular team meetings, and open conversations. But one thing that’s stayed constant is the people. I’ve worked with some fantastic colleagues, but Helen, my manager during a tough time in her life, left a lasting impact with her strength, humour, and positivity.

My favourite memory is definitely a team-building day where I ended up driving a go-kart, not very fast, but full of laughs!

If you’re just starting out here, my advice: You won’t know everything, no one does. Keep asking questions and stay curious.

Looking to the future, I’m excited about our growth into Europe and continuing to offer great solutions. If I leave behind anything, I hope it’s a reputation for being helpful, collaborative, and always up for a challenge (and maybe a go-kart race or two).
